BoJ Governor Shirakawa had the following comments ahead of the Asian open: Expanding corporate liquidity is still a key issue. The BoJ will continue to provide generous provisions to deal with the credit crunch. If earnings announcements clearly show deterioration, companies themselves and banks may become more conscious of credit risks.  He also confirmed the BoJ’s view that the economy could begin showing.
